Choosing the right size luggage for a weekend trip is easy, but when you’re leaving for a 10-day trip, things get tougher. You need to be mobile and have enough of your things to feel comfortable. How do you find the middle ground?
On past trips, I often chose the wrong luggage. Mostly I took a larger suitcase and filled it with different clothes, half of that I didn’t use. My luggage was handicapped by the weight and was uncomfortable.
Sometimes, I took only one small bag and I didn’t bring enough things to feel comfortable.
Your Best Size Luggage for 10 Day Trip
Based on our own experience, the best choice for a 10-day trip are two bags: one carry on backpack and one check-in suitcase.
Probably, you will travel with your laptop or other expensive devices. For a safety reason, better to keep them in your carry-on luggage. To feel comfortable and mobile use an under-seat carry-on backpack.
Secure your checked-in luggage. We recommend using luggage locks and luggage tags. Pay attention to your locks if you’ll travel to the USA. When you fly, you’ll need to check the weight and physical dimensions permitted by your airline. Most U.S. airlines limiting to only one checked bag and one carry-on unless you are willing to pay extra. For a cost-saving reason, your luggage should be 62 inches or 157 centimeters (length + width + height), weight limit: 50 pounds, or 23 kilograms.
